FALMOUTH PRIDE 2008/09
REGISTRATION
Age groups by birth year
for 2008/09 are: 10 & under, 1998 and higher; 12 &
under, 1996 and higher; 14 & under, 1994 and higher; 19
& under, 1989 and higher. Players are age
eligible as of December 31, 2008. For example, if
a player is 12 at season start in September, and will
turn 13 the following January, the player is still
eligible to play 12 & under because she will be 12 as of
December 31, 2008.
Our goal is to form teams by ability and age. Team
rosters are limited to 16 players and 2 goalies.
It may be possible to form two teams for a certain age
group depending on the number of players that register
within that age group. If two teams are formed
within one age group, there would be an A level team and
a B level team and try outs would be conducted. It
is also possible to combine age groups to form teams
based on ability. An 11 year old may, for example,
be eligible for a 14 & under team if her skill level is
suitable for that team and league entry.
A U19/16 half season team will be formed
for the 2007/08 season, and try outs may be required to
complete this team roster. The U19/16 team
will play a half season, ending its season at
Thanksgiving prior to the start of the high school
season.
Players that do not have
any hockey experience or lack the ability to play on a
travel team may be recommended to play in the House
program depending on age. This program is geared
toward the 10 & under age group, but beginner players
who are over 10 have participated in this program to
develop skills. Beginner players are strongly
recommended to participate in the PRIDE summer clinic to
develop skills prior to season start.
