Comments:
Thanks to the Mite B team for playing us. It was a fun
game.
We lost Caroline to the Mite B's, but picked up her sister,
Danielle, who did a great job on the wing. Great hustle
and good play all round for this game by all. Margaret skated
hard on both offense and defense. Hannah made a ton of
great defensive plays. Maddie came up with a
hat trick and gave it her all for the whole game and had her
defense debut. Callan
got her birthday goal on a rebound from a shot by Maddie and
showed great hustle in following in the shooter - way to be
there, Callan! Haley made a lot of great saves.
Little Mac popped in a shot off Rachel and got her second goal.
Rachel had an assist and set up her team mates all morning.
The whole team played their positions well and did their best.
Everyone got a chance to play different positions - Coach Mike
is still reeling from the line changes! Great job, girls!

this game when we were within 1 goal most of the game until the
third period. Keep up the good work!

Comments:
Great game! We played a U12 team and kept up with them very
well, although a bit intimated by size. Kyleigh got the goal for
us on an assist by Madison Tasha. We had a 2 player advantage at
one point and although we shot and shot, we could not get past
the MV goalie, who played a terrific game. We're looking forward
to the playoffs! Great work, girls.

Comments:
It was back and forth goals and end to end action in the
Falmouth Pride girls'
U10 game against Walpole U10 on Sunday, January 14th at Falmouth
Ice Arena, that
ended in a 7 to 7 tie.
Kelly Ferreira opened the score for the Pride in the first
period by putting a
shot in from the wide right side with an assist from defensive
player, Kendall
Stouffer. Walpole came right back a minute and a half later
with an unassisted
goal from Shannon McCafferty and Jenna Donahue scored a second
unassisted goal for Walpole
at 2:56 in the first period.
The Pride were right back in the game in the second with a goal
by winger
Madison Haberl at 9:50 on an assist from Kyleigh Good. The
Pride defense of
Marissa Anderson, Hannah Ghelfi, Rachel Walman, Sidney Minnehan,
Victoria
Putnam, and Kendall Stouffer, held Walpole from scoring in the
second period and
goalie Haley Schorer made a couple of great saves in the second
to hold Walpole.
The Falmouth girls kept the pressure on in the second period
with back-checking
help from forwards Callan Small, Sarah Walman, Casey Eustis, and Hope
Blanchard. The Pride
goals kept coming in the second with two more goals from Kyleigh
Good on an
assist from Hannah Ghelfi, and a break away goal from the line
of of Margaret
Palmer, Emily Moynihan and Elizabeth Palmer, with Margaret
Palmer breaking away
free in the neutral zone and a low shot to the far left corner.
The Pride U10s were up 4 to 2 at the start of the third period,
and Kendall
Stouffer put in the Pride's fifth goal at 15:45 on a short pass
from Madison
Tasha. Walpole was not about to give up, however, and Victoria
O'Heir and Jenna
Donahue put in two quick qoals in the third at 11:58 and 10:54
to bring the
score to 5 to 4 for the Pride. Falmouth's Madison Tasha made it
a 6 to 4 game
at 8:45 in the third with a hard low shot on an assist from
winger Mackenzie
"Little Mac" Haberl. Walpole came back with two more goals from
Jenna Donahue and
Olivia Knight and tied up the game 6 to 6. Kelly Ferreira
popped in the Pride's
7th goal with just 25 seconds left in the game for the Pride
lead. Not to be
outdone, Walpole kept digging and Olivia Knight came up with a
7th goal after a
scramble in front of the Pride net with just 5 seconds left in
the game.
It was a great effort overall for the Falmouth Pride U10s and
the Walpole U10 team, who both
play in the Bay State Girls Hockey League.

Comments:
Great way to end 2006! Excellent game all round in passing,
defense, wingers, it was just great! Little Mac got her first
goal, it was just fantastic, she was right at the far post.
Maddie threw it over to her and she put it on net, there was a
save and she put in the rebound!! All the girls mobbed her! We
moved Rachel up to wing so Callan would single-shift, and Rachel
scored the same way, top corner. Maddie rounded out the U10
scoring with a goal. Kyleigh got one and Kelly the other, for a
5-2 win. We had so many hit the post, or go through the crease.
We kept the puck in their end of the ice for the first 10
minutes of the game, once Madison scored they let up and gave up
two pretty quick. But, we tuned them up before the second period
and they played like crazy! Marissa may have faced 10 shots,
including a couple of breakaways that she stopped cold.
Excellent effort. See you Saturday at Skills!
Coach Laura and Coach Tim.
Cranberry
Classic Tournament November 25-27, 2006
Thank you very much for your
daughter’s participation in this tournament! It was a lot of
fun, and we saw the results of what would normally be a month’s
worth of games in 3 days.
Friday’s game
was a good start with the Cape Cod Waves. Madison Haberl scored
her first goal and we had a bench clearing scene in
celebration! Saturday saw a couple of losses to the East Coast
Wizards and the Eastern Connecticut Girls Hockey Club that
proved to be a great learning experience for the U10s as they
came out for Sunday’s game like a new team with lots of
improvement.
Sunday’s game
was the highlight with the girls playing the best they ever
had. Haley was in net (pictured right) for games 2 – 4 and was
all heart out there doing an outstanding job. Marissa played a
great game in net for game 1 for us against the Waves. Little
Mac (or Big Mac, as Coach Mike calls her) was just inches away
from a goal, Maddie Haberl put her second goal in on Sunday,
Elizabeth was ooooooooooohhhhh so close, Caroline set up a goal
beautifully and skated her heart out, Margaret dug and dug and
dug for the puck, Rachel played outstanding D, Victoria stepped
up and up and up, Sydney played the best positional play of her
young career! Callan was all effort all weekend and did a good
job coaching the girls on backchecking, Emily went to the puck
over and over , Hope had a bunch of great passes, Tasha guarded
that D at the point and played her position well – all great
stuff! Congratulations, girls. For most of you this was your
first tournament and you had a great time, which is most
important, and you showed terrific improvement over the
weekend. Thank you to Coach Tim and Mike for all your work,
too.

Comments:
Wow - what a
game... end to end action right down to the buzzer. We asked
the girls to go out and set the pace for the game on the first
shift and they came through with a goal on the first shift -
Kelly Ferreira's goal, assisted by Madison Tasha and Kyleigh
Good. Marissa made some key saves for us and played an
outstanding game in net. Maddie Tasha was in there on the
offense on all shifts and did an excellent job forechecking for
many turnovers. We tried to tie it up with Marissa pulled in
the last minute, but could not get passed the Waves goalie, who
made a ton of great saves. Kyleigh gave it her all with the
last 7 seconds on a break away to shoot with 3 seconds left!
Rachel, Victoria, Haley, Sidney, Hannah stood their ground on D
and broke up many offensive rushes. Madison Haberl shot and
shot and shot - way to go Maddie – it will go in, keep
shooting! Margaret, Elizabeth, Emily, Hope, Mackenzie, and
Callan played their positions well and all-round gave it their
best. Skills are getting better and playmaking is coming along
- terrific effort by everyone! Coach Laura

Comments:
All round a terrific game! We were winners at a lot of things -
shooting the puck more, passing and playmaking were most obvious
improvements. Haley was stellar in net stopping many shots and
covering up the puck very well. Our line of Madison T., Kelly
and Casey did a great job putting one in the net on the first
shift to set the pace for the game - nice work, girls!
Madison H., Callan and Rachel were outstanding at putting the
puck on the net and playing their positions. Margaret, Emily and
Elizabeth kept backchecking and digging for their goal -
Margaret's first of the season - way to go, Margaret! Hope and
Mackenzie and centers, Madison H., Callan and Rachel, kept on
going when we needed them and did a great job. Our defense
worked hard and Hannah was outstanding on D - stepping up when
needed and setting up offense especially. Victoria did
exceptionally well at playing the line and getting back -
Caroline skated the hardest I have ever seen her! Tasha,
Marissa, Sidney, Madison T., Kyleigh, Casey, and Kendall all did
a great job on defense. Everyone played great, which
makes us winners - it was a fun game all-round.

The entire team deserves the stars on this one. Everyone played
their best, which is what it is all about - win or lose!
Positions were played well, defense was exceptional, offense had
lots of shots, and Marissa was due this one in net for her hard
work. Maddie Tasha led the scoring with a beautiful break
away goal and followed up with one more goal, and Kyleigh popped
in two for the Pride. Great job all-round, girls and a
terrific way to start the regular season play! Coach Laura

Comments:
A good effort on our part in this game. Marissa stopped a number
of key shots and kept us in the game. Our girls played much
better offensively and Kyleigh was unstoppable on offense with 2
goals. Our defense got caught a few times, but overall played a
good game. Mac was in the corners and on the boards digging away
against girls 3 times her size - great effort Mackenzie! Good
work by the whole team. Keep it up!

Comments:
We are improving every game and we need to keep up the good work
in clearing the zone, being cautious on defense and working
offensively to move to the open spaces instead of all moving to
the puck on offense. Tasha did an outstanding job in goal and we
thank her for her efforts and contribution. We know what our
goals are as a team, and we will get there! Keep up the smiles
and good work! Coach Laura

Lots of improvement in this game from the last one, with better
movement of the puck up the ice and defensive coverage and
positioning. Our forwards are learning to move the puck up the
ice and dumping it in to the offensive zone and chasing it down.
Our defense is improving steadily on playing together and not
getting caught out of position. We will continue to
improve as we work on our skills and playmaking. Keep up
the hard work everyone and continue to enjoy the game!

Great First
Game U10s! The score did not reflect at all the good match for
these two teams. A combination of our first game "jitters", our
goalie's first game in net (who did an outstanding job, by the
way), and the Waves having 1 very strong player who scored 4
goals, brought the score where it is. Our forwards worked hard
to move the puck up the ice and we had some great chances. Our
defense got caught off guard a couple of times and were not able
to get back, but overall defense showed good efforts all-round.
The girls showed a lot of potential, and things are only going
to get better from here! Great job everyone!
