A good effort all round for our forward and defense, and Haley made some key saves in net to hold off Walpole. Ericka and Jen played the best defensive games ever. Thanks for a fun and exciting season, girls! You have improved so much since September and all deserve a lot of credit for your dedication and commitment to the game. See you next season!

The girls definitely came to play for this game! Right from the get go they hustled, were first to the puck, and shot, shot, shot. Madison scored a hat trick in this game with lots of hustle and many shots and worked hard to set up her line mates too. Haley earned a shut out, which is well-deserved given her hard work and dedication all season long! Caroline put two goals in. Mackenzie and Hunter scored the other two. Great job all round - defense was exceptional and forwards checked and checked and followed shots for rebounds. Everyone contributed to this win for the U10s. We could see that the tournament play prior to this game really paid off as the girls level of play was much higher for this game than pre-tourney. Keep up the good work!

Comments:

A very good game for our team! The development of this team through the season really showed in this game, with a lot of heads up play, crashing the net for rebounds, passing and clearing the zone. All the things coaches have been teaching all year long are showing through for a great game. We were shorthanded players, and a big thanks for our defence of Rachel, Danielle and Ericka, who came up big and played a terrific game for us.  Rachel was all over the ice on forward rushes and back on D when needed.  Danielle and Ericka were outstanding as well.  Sydney had a great game at center, showing strong forward skills and popping in her first goal of the season on an assist from Emily and Sarah, and getting back to help out on D. Mac crashed the net for our second goal and her tenacity paid off! Wingers Jen, Abby, Hope, Emily, Hunter and Sarah had a terrific game.  Haley came up with some key saves and was solid in net.  Overall the team skated hard and played their best.  Keep up the great work girls!

Comments:

Everyone deserves a star for this game - great work, girls! Coaches asked for more hustle and getting to the puck first and all the girls met the challenge of playing this tough team. Haley played an awesome game in net and made many key saves. Defense was solid, breaking up many rushes and covering the net better. Forwards hustled and are starting to "dump and chase" as we have asked - advancing the puck better up the ice. Margaret had a terrific first goal and an outstanding second goal by following her own shot and putting in the rebound. Second goal was a scramble in front of the net that is credited to all of Sarah, Emily and Caroline. Caroline kept digging and Sarah and Emily were right there to both knock the loose puck in. All round a terrific effort with lots of hustle and team work!

Great Game, girls! Lots of play making and tons of shots - we could not get past the Crush goalie who must have stopped at least 30 shots. Rachel played an exceptional game and gave it her all. Hannah (Bones) Callahan was a dynamo on defense as usual throwing those bones to the boards and beyond. Great effort, Hannah! Alexia, one of our newest players, had a terrific game with lots of hustle and playmaking - great job, Lex!! We are neck and neck with this team and have had many very close games that could go either way. Win or lose though, the girls are doing their best, which is the most important thing. Keep up the great work! Coach Laura

A good effort, girls, against a team with more experienced players and bigger size. Haley kept us in the game facing a zillion shots and did a terrific job for us - thank you, Haley!! Madison played both ends of the ice and put in the second goal. Caroline got the first one on a good hard shot from a tough angle on a power play. Hannah, Sydney, Margaret and Elizabeth hustled on defense. Our forwards came out slow in the first period but picked it up in the second and third. Hope did a great job going to the puck, digging it out of the corners, and advancing it offensively for us and creating some turnovers. Mac was her usual dynamo at center digging away and playing both ends of the ice. Caroline, Danielle, Emily, Ericka, Jen, and Alexia kept on working until the end of the game - nobody gave up - great effort.  Alexia played a terrific first game for us - welcome Alexia! Emily Moynihan and McKenzie Haberl had two assists as piece. Caroline came through with a big goal for us with an assist from Danielle. Our defense was strong, and we were fortunate to have our 4th defense Ericka (Goose) back which contributed in a huge way to this game - thank you, Ericka!! A tough match up against the Waves once again. The Waves scored first and we came up with a goal from Callan Small who one timed it off of a pass from Danielle Peterson out of the corner - great offensive head up play, girls! The Waves took a second goal and then Madison Haberl came through for us with our 2nd goal at the end of the second period to tie it up, 2 to 2. After a flat second period, the team came back in the short third period with a lot of shots but could not put it past the Waves goalie. With a player advantage, the Waves scored the 3rd and winning goal on our empty net. Defense of Madison, Caroline, Sydney, Rachel, and Hannah played well and held the blue line and the Waves to one break away that couldn't be helped. Madison's hustle on defense was excellent. Hunter was outstanding in digging the puck out, being first to the puck and checking, checking, checking. Danielle did a great job of playmaking, looking for the pass, creating space and moving around in the offensive zone to get open. Forwards McKenzie, Callan, Jen, Margaret, Elizabeth, Hope, Hunter, Danielle and Sarah did a great job passing the puck and looking for the break out passes. Haley had some big saves in net and came through for us once again. Overall a good game, girls! Keep up the great work.

Comments:

Evenly matched throughout, shots on net probably favored SSLH. Extremely solid efforts by our younger players...Hannah, Danielle, Jenn, Erika, Mickey, Hope...everyone had a shot on net I think. Hunter really had a great game, carrying the puck into the zone and backchecking.
McKenzie carries the puck through center ice and fires from almost the blueline, goal!
Rachael and Madison scored solo goals as usual, but really passed the puck around or threw it to the net to give their teammates a chance to score, and we had lots of chances!
Haley played a great game in Goal, stopped a few breakaways...final goal given up with 1.5 seconds, 6 big skaters for SS put constant pressure on us for the final two minutes.
Great game, coaches and fans agreed it was a fun game to watch, real improvement being made week to week!
